Daily Routine: As soon as the doors open at 8:45 AM the students may begin walking to the classroom.
Medicines: If your student needs to take medication during school hours, please contact our school office and they will explain the correct school protocol to you and supply you with the needed forms. This includes cough drops, vitamin C drops, or Zipfizz for water bottles.
Excused Absences: If your child is sick and cannot attend school that morning, please call before 8:45 AM or e-mail our St. Joseph School Office secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
After School Change of Plans: Please call our Issaquah school office if there is a change in your child's pick up plan (different from usual plan) rather than just e-mailing his/her teacher.
Class Jobs: Everyone gets a chance to help in the classroom. We switch jobs on a regular basis. We like to instill a sense of ownership and responsibility in all our students.

Our Classroom Expectations: It is our students' responsibility to know and follow the expectations. Our school rules reflect the teachings of Jesus and are based upon our SLE’s and our SOAR acronym. S. Be Safe O. Be optimistic A. Be accepting R. Be responsible If a behavior issue arises, the teacher or office may conference with the student and we will contact the student’s family to problem solve.
Rewards: Class Incentives: Periodically we will have a fun incentive for the class. This may include earning team points towards participation in a movie/popcorn party, a game day, extra recess time, etc. SLEs: Your student will receive SLE tickets throughout the year for exhibiting SLE behaviors Stickers: We have sticker charts every month! Your child will earn stickers for being a hard worker and kind student!
Classwork: All completed work should be turned in to the appropriate place in the classroom. Students are responsible for finishing all assigned work. Any unfinished work may be sent home to be complete. Homework: Students should practice their addition and subtraction math facts to 10 and read every night.
Newsletter: Each Monday a newsletter with go home with information about the week’s academics and events.
Friday Folders: Folders will be sent home on Fridays with student work from the previous week. Please take a few minutes each week to review the work.
Birthdays: It is important that you give your student’s teacher a heads up before bringing in birthday treats.
Birthdays may be celebrated by bringing a treat to share with the class. These treats are passed out during lunch or afternoon break. Please keep things simple! If you have a birthday during a break (over the weekend, during vacation, or summer) you may celebrate your birthday on a different date. Please send me an e-mail about this and I will schedule a day for your student.
If your student is having a birthday party outside of school, please DO NOT bring the invitations to school. Contact Information: Miss Alycia Prekaski email@example.com
